First donation from someone I don’t know

I really appreciate everyone sharing this website with their friends. Between yesterday afternoon and this morning, I received information about a donation from someone I don’t know. There’s probably a “friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend” connection involved, but I don’t know much beyond that.

So after I got that first “unknown” donation, I got like 4 more! That means some 1/3 of the those who have donated were due to you all sharing this website with your own networks!

How much can we raise for Barack Obama?

I’ve decided to donate to Barack Obama’s campaign. Barack has set a goal of getting 1,000,000 people to donate to his campaign, and I want to help him reach that goal—and surpass it.

I’ve just donated $500 to Barack’s campaign, and I will donate an additional $5 every time one of you tells me (via email) that you’ve donated to Barack’s campaign (along with how much, if you’re comfortable with that). Of course, I’ll stop at the statutory limit of $2,300, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t keep donating right up to that limit!

Keep the donations flowing, and I’ll make sure that I update my donation on a daily basis.

On the graphs page you’ll see (1) how many people have donated, (2) how much I’ve donated to date, and (3) how much money we’ve raised together. I’ll put together more numbers and/or graphs as the need arises (i.e. just tell me if you want to see something).
